Using acorns as food...
|Beef with Acorns & Redcurrant Sauce|
Yes acorns are edible, provided they are suitably prepared. They can be used to make bread-type food, as a thickener, and in other dishes like the one shown here.
Stir-fried beef [it could just as easily have been venison], with an acorn and redcurrant sauce. Whole acorns [previously leached and dried, then re-hydrated] were used rather than the mush.
