Boston House is a lovely Victorian Gothic building dating from 1849 and is listed as being of special architectural interest. Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin who is best known for his designs of the ornamentation and furnishings of the Houses of Parliament, also lays claim to the fine Gothic ornamentation on this truly beautiful authentic home that is Boston House.
Peacefully situated in a private leafy lane, in an elevated position, on the edge of Windermere village, Boston House is conveniently placed close to the village centre for the train and coach station, and the large variety of shops and restaurants there. The five spacious en-suite bedrooms cater for double, twin, and family requirements. Each room has a colour television, a radio alarm clock, a hairdryer, and a hot drinks tray. You may choose to sleep in a cosy four poster bed or a Victorian half tester bed- very romantic ! Hearty, wholesome Cumbrian breakfasts, to set you up for the day, are taken in the comfort of the informal dining room. In the evenings, relax, in front of the fire in the elegant sitting room where there is a selection of games and books, including maps and guides of walks and drives to help you plan your days. |
