Pitchford Hall lies at the centre of Pitchford Estate in beautiful rolling countryside about six miles south of Shrewsbury in the county of Shropshire. Sadly, after a failed attempt to save the Hall for the nation, the house was sold in 1992 and an irreplaceable collections of treasures was auctioned. Though Pitchford Hall is no longer open to the public two houses on the Estate - the old gatehouse [South Lodge] and one of the threshing barns [Windy Mundy Farm] - are available as holiday homes.
